I don't really know what to do about Linux here. I don't believe this is
correct, because at least some people want ^C to get through to the
terminal in a win window so that it can send an interrupt signal.

How would you feel about this if I removed the ^c? You can still copy text by
doing ^x followed by ^v, much like mouse chording. It's better than nothing on
a Linux laptop without a 3-button touchpad (which I am starting to regret
buying).
