Maybe move the removal of the GROFF test/flag here?  If there should be some
unexpected breakage at some point of time, that makes it more likely that it can
be handled with a single revert.

Even though the relation at the current point of time is not really
programmatically enforced.  It's just about putting related removals into the
same place.
